The opening scene of the G.D. Naidu movie itself left a lasting impression on me. It begins with his fascination for his first motorcycle and his struggle to arrange the ₹300 needed to buy it. Watching his determination despite the difficulties gave me a glimpse into the kind of person he was—curious, passionate, and determined to follow what fascinated him. Both actors of GDN character young age (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teejay_Arunasalam) and then aged GDN (MadhavanR) did justice to the role. Done the innovator and business man period to the fullest.
After watching the movie, I happened to visit the G.D. Naidu Museum. We had only about two hours, so we decided to make the most of our time by getting tickets for both the Car Museum and the Science Museum.
The Car Museum was fascinating, with an amazing collection of cars ranging from vintage models from the olden days to more recent luxury cars and limousines. It was wonderful to see how automobiles have evolved over the years.
We then moved on to the Science Museum, where we got to see so many of G.D. Naidu’s inventions, experiments, and personal belongings. There was so much to explore that, unfortunately, we could not see everything in detail. We managed to spend time with only a few exhibits, but even that was enough to leave a lasting impression.
To be honest, watching the movie first and then visiting the museum made the experience even more meaningful. The movie helped me understand his life story, while the museum allowed me to actually visualize and connect with his journey. Seeing his inventions and the things he worked with made me appreciate the passion, curiosity, and love he had for everything he did.
What stayed with me the most was his powerful thought: “No person can teach you things; you need to learn by yourself.” His life is a true reflection of this belief. From struggling to arrange ₹300 for his first motorcycle to becoming a remarkable innovator, his journey shows how curiosity, self-learning, perseverance, and passion can transform a simple dream into something extraordinary.
We may not have had enough time to explore every exhibit, but the two hours we spent there were truly memorable. It was not just a museum visit ,it felt like a journey through the life and mind of a remarkable man.
