Chennai diaries : A day in Mylapore

This year, we will not be celebrating Navaratri at home. So I considered going to the Kapaleeshwarar temple in Mylapore. 

My Elder son and me started by nine, but owing to heavy traffic, we arrived in Mylapore by  twelve. From the bus stop, we drove straight to the temple.

Since there were golu doll stores on both sides of the temple, there was still a lot of traffic on the roads. Here are some pictures of this year's Golu doll shops. 

We had nice darshan of ambal and sivan. We took part in uchi kala pooja it was a divine blessing moment. We also saw golu kept inside temple premises, as taking photo not allowed didn't click one. We had our lunch at Nitya Amirtham below is the picture of temple gopuram that we clicked from hotel. 

Below Golu doll is an add on to our Golu doll collection felt unique and so we bought that. This is a clay doll which weighed heavy so we bought a shopping bag to carry it carefully to our home. My elder son appreciated me for bargaining skills.😇

My husband told me this is not just a doll form. Got to know its significance in detail, also there is Singeeswarar  temple in POONMALLE where we can worship veena Hanuman 🙏.

I also bought Kutty Ambal vastrams (darkgreen,light green and gold) and pink malas!! I had been searching for them for such a long time and finally I was able to get them. Feeling so happy and blessed. Take a look of our ambal in New Outfits Below picture seem to be bigger but deities are less than little finger size , I got those vastrams in vijaya stores mylapore. It has all kinds of pooja items return gifts for all occasions.

Years before we visited Freezzone. From then on, my son kept insisting on visiting that place again and to enjoy soft ice cream. Even the auto driver made fun of us for visiting this far to just have an ice cream, but some little enjoyments must never be ignored. 

 Later while we are walking to our bus stop we saw Make My perfume shop. Without any second thought visited and made our own perfume,named Tomford lavender xtreme. Definitely it had a Long lasting fragrance. 

 Watching it being prepared was such a new and exciting experience. The shopkeeper gave us a box of coffee beans to smell in between scents so our noses wouldn't get confused. Watching the lavender oil mix in was so soothing. 

They started with the base scent, blended it with the other notes, filled our bottle, and sealed the lid.

Shop person told us to keep the bottle in freezer for 3 days and then in dark place for 3 days before our first use. 

We also got reminded of the days, how we used to smell the same perfume fragrance when we walk along the floors of Abudhabi and Dubai Malls during the years 2017-2020,people used to invite us to try their samples and purchase it. 😊

Finally it was a Memorable day with great fun filled memories..... That could be cherished forever.
